The problem with adult AI directories

Every directory in this category ranks by opinion and describes that opinion as curation. Some of them test the products, which is genuinely better than not testing them, but the output is still one person’s ordering presented as a fact.

Meanwhile the things a reader actually needs to decide are usually missing: what it costs after the trial credits run out, whether a card is required before you can generate anything, how long the service keeps what you made, whether your prompts train the next model, and when any of that was last true.

What ClickTug does differently

We measure discovery instead of asserting quality. Every outbound link from a listing page is counted when a real person clicks it. Once a listing has enough tracking history and enough views for the figure to mean something, that figure appears on the page. Until then the page says so, with the date it will qualify. Nothing is estimated, modelled or backfilled. Our methodology states exactly what is counted, what is excluded, and what we deliberately do not exclude.

Every fact carries a date and a source. A listing records what a tool costs, what its free tier includes, whether signup needs a card, what happens to your content, and which vendor page each of those was read from. Pricing in this category changes within weeks, so the date is part of the fact rather than a footnote.

The site is small on purpose. We would rather list thirty tools in a way that answers a real question than three thousand in a way that answers none. Growth here means better listings before it means more of them.

We refuse the largest part of this market. ClickTug does not list tools built around sexualising real people. That exclusion covers more search volume than everything we do cover. Our content policy explains the reasoning and, more usefully, explains that the refusal is enforced by our own software rather than by our good intentions.

What ClickTug is not

It is not a content site. We host no explicit images or video, and our build rejects any image loaded from a host other than our own.

It is not a review site in the star-rating sense. There is no ClickTug score, and any score attributed to us is fabricated. We may build one once we have enough first-party data for it to mean something, and if we do, the rubric will be published and versioned before the first number appears.

It is not comprehensive, and does not claim to be.

Who runs it

ClickTug is run by Alston Antony, who has worked in SEO and digital marketing for over a decade. It is an independent project, not a venture-backed one. That is the reason the directory is small and the reason nobody can buy their way up it.

How it pays for itself

Some outbound links carry a partner parameter. Those links are marked on the listing that carries them, in the sentence directly under the button rather than in a footer disclosure.

Partner status does not affect click counts, ordering, or a single word of what a listing says. If it ever does, that will be stated on the page it affects.
